Joy Hour #9

Today in Joy Hour, I picked up where I left off two weeks ago. However, I hit a minor roadblock. The guide book that I have been using is great, but it is a little vague about where all of the locations are in relation to one another. So today, when I went to map the travel time between the locations that I settled on last week, I found that they were too far spread out, and I would be zigzagging across the country for the entirety of my trip. So, for obvious reasons, I had to rethink some sections of my trip.
Last Joy Hour, I had mapped out my trip through Metora, then to Hotel Bourazani, then to Vergina, then to Corfu. However, after checking a map, I found that I had been slightly mislead by the guide book; Vergina was in the opposite direction of everything else. The trip (as it was planned last joy hour) would take me in towards the west coast of Greece, and farther away from the islands I desperately want to visit. On the other hand, it would allow me to visit Sparta, then hop down to the islands. At this point though, it'll be over a week into my trip, leaving only a small amount of time for the islands.
As it stands right now, Metora is the center of either path. I can turn left, and travel into the western parts of Greece, those less seen by most tourists. This path will take me to the small island of Corfu, a beautiful town, and the best restaurant of Greece. This path could also let me drop down to Sparta, then take a ferry to the islands. Alternatively, I could turn right, and travel into the birthplace of Alexander the Great, stopping for a day or two to explore; then travel to Thessaloniki and straight to the islands.
At at this point, I'm not sure which path I'll choose, but I will decide before next week, after further research.
